IDMWE 22
by MartinChapter 22
Rigan’s strayed mind snapped back to reality the instant the Vampire Lord opened his mouth.
“It seems my subordinate has committed quite a few rudenesses in various ways. I believe I explicitly told her to bring you over politely.”
The Vampire Lord looked at the Vampire Queen with a look of utter disappointment.
“Instead of doing that, to end up captured like this. Tsk.”
At his words, the Vampire Queen’s face flushed bright red.
It was right then that the angel chimed in.
“What is this atrocious demonic energy! Has the vampire clan really defected to the Demon King’s army?”
The Vampire Lord’s eyes sparkled with intrigue upon seeing the angel.
“Ho. I was curious when I heard that some sort of gnat was buzzing around the humans who defeated the demonic beast. It really was the aura of Sirphion.”
“Answer my question already!”
“Well now. It seems a bit too early to be having that kind of conversation just yet.”
The Vampire Lord spoke playfully, wearing an expression as if he had discovered an entertaining toy.
“Regrettably, it seems I must take my leave for today.”
The moment he said that, his figure moved in a flash and snatched up the Vampire Queen.
Rigan and Leona, who were not in good condition due to the constellations’ pranks, could only watch the scene unfold without being able to react in time.
“Instead, how about we let this friend play with you today?”
At the Vampire Lord’s gesture, the giant snake behind him moved its massive body forward.
“It is the demonic beast of jealousy, ‘Naga.’ It was whining today unusually unlike its usual self, and it seems I finally understand why.”
The Vampire Lord, after dropping those meaningful words, turned his gaze toward Rigan.
“Especially this gentleman over here—to possess such vivid emotions when he doesn’t even seem to realize it yet.”
“What?”
He transformed into smoke and vanished.
Swoosh—
At that exact moment, the demonic beast resembling the snake named ‘Naga’ lunged toward them.
“Damn it.”
Leona bit her lip hard.
‘The odds of winning are too low. On top of that, Rigan seems half out of his mind…’
Leona herself wasn’t in perfect physical condition due to the strange scent that had been wafting since earlier.
Making a quick judgment, Leona spoke to Rigan.
“I’ll draw its attention, so in the meantime, destroy the boundary stone and secure an escape route.”
With that, she drew her sword and charged at the giant snake without a single moment of hesitation.
—
[Female-Char-Simp]: Wow, look at that valiant back! Our Leona is so awesome!
[Let’s-All-Live]: The Vampire Lord was handsome though… It’s a pity he only appeared for a second…
[Trash-Can-Commander]: No, but why are they fighting again when we set the scene for an Omegaverse?
[Scene-Crafting-Master]: Exactly! When on earth is the scene we want going to happen! Is there any constellation with divine power left? Increase the pheromone intensity!
[Dongin-Not-Seoin]: But who is the Omega and who is the Alpha? I can’t tell because they just keep holding it in.
—
Leaving behind the noisy chat window of the constellations echoing in her ears—
Rigan, with dazed eyes from the rising heat, stared at Leona’s back as she fought desperately against the demonic beast.
Seeing her trying her absolute best to prevent the beast’s attacks from reaching him made Rigan feel a strange emotion.
‘…I refuse to become dead weight.’
In the end, despite his heavy head, he somehow squeezed out a spell formula.
“Haa, haa.”
Having barely managed to shake off the demonic beast and destroy the boundary stone, the two caught their rough breath.
Passing through the shimmering space, the place where the two fell was the entrance of the dungeon where they had first gathered.
Nathan, who had been anxiously waiting for Leona, discovered them first and ran over.
“Leona! Are you okay?”
As the two collapsed onto the ground upon arrival, Nathan quickly checked on the fallen Leona.
At that moment, Nathan’s face froze solid.
“Phew…”
Nathan panicked at the sight of Leona panting with a flushed, red face.
“You, what happened to…!”
Seeing her unusual state, Nathan was about to shout something when he suddenly stopped.
His eyes, which had only seen Leona, finally took in the presence of the uninvited guest.
There stood Rigan, whose condition had become even more severe after coming out of the dungeon. He was taking rough breaths while looking into space with dazed eyes, his eye rims and cheeks flushed rosy red.
“What on earth happened in there?”
“That is…”
Leona caught her ragged breath and briefly summarized what had occurred inside the dungeon.
Of course, she excluded the detailed story regarding the Demon King.
“What? A vampire clan appeared?”
Nathan gasped in shock upon hearing the incident from Leona.
Not only had a clan that disappeared long ago shown up, but they had also displayed a hostile attitude.
If that was true, the fact that these two had safely escaped the dungeon was a miracle in itself.
“Crazy, what on earth… No, now is not the time for this.”
As expected of a 3rd-year special forces member, Nathan quickly began to resolve the situation.
“Transport these two to the sanctuary immediately! And convey retreat orders via the observers to the three rookies currently inside the dungeon right now!”
At his command, the rest of the personnel moved busily. Watching them anxiously, Nathan shook his head and stood up.
“No, wait. I’ll go in and bring them out myself. Just in case, prepare anti-vampire weapons as fast as possible, and share the rookies’ real-time locations with me.”
Just this incident alone would result in at least house arrest, but what was more important was preventing further damage.
While preparations were being made for the deployment of several squad members including Nathan, stretchers to transport Rigan and Leona were also prepared.
“Leona, you’ll get better soon once you reach the sanctuary, so don’t worry.”
Nathan spoke, mistakenly believing that Leona had fallen victim to some ability of the vampire clan.
“Phew, I can overcome something like this with mental strength alone… Haa, watch out for yourself, senior.”
At her incredibly Leona-like response, Nathan couldn’t help but chuckle softly despite the serious situation.
“Yeah, if it’s you, you really might.”
Thus, Leona was transported to the sanctuary along with Rigan.
And then…
“Wh-What? That’s not possible?”
“Haa, haa… You’re saying even divine power can’t fix it?”
…There were things in this world that could not be overcome by mental strength alone.
Strictly speaking, it wasn’t the sanctuary’s fault.
The sanctuary had genuinely done its best to heal the wounds sustained from the battle with the demonic beast ‘Naga,’ as well as the demonic energy enveloping them.
“The demonic energy has already been completely purified, however.”
But that was as far as it went.
“Even so, you still smell an unidentified fragrance and, ahem… abnormal heat keeps rising in your bodies, you say.”
When even the high priests and high healers failed to find the cause, they eventually decided to urgently request the dispatch of a High Priest from the Papal Holy See.
“For now, since this is the only healing room with a blessing placed upon it… please both wait here for a moment.”
After saying that, the priest cast a few protective barriers around Leona.
And to Rigan…
“Ugh… What, phew, are you doing right now!”
…He put handcuffs on him.
Rigan, suddenly bound to the healing room bed with both hands raised upward, protested fiercely.
“This is a precaution in case you, brother, ahem, cannot restrain inappropriate impulses.”
He even meticulously reinforced the handcuffs with holy magic so they wouldn’t come off.
Watching this, Leona slowly raised her hand and asked,
“Uh… excuse me, what if I end up jumping Rigan?”
At her words, the priest burst out laughing.
He looked at Leona as if looking at a pure, innocent girl and left the healing room.
“…Phew.”
In the healing room that instantly grew quiet, only the rough breathing of a resigned Rigan echoed.
Looking at Rigan, who was groaning while tied to the bed, Leona felt like her ears were gradually turning bright red for some reason.
It was the moment Leona couldn’t take it anymore and turned her head away.
—
[Kiss-Beggar]: Kiss! Kiss!
[Restraint-Is-Love]: This is crazy… Kissing while tied up… So stimulating.
—
Those messages were just the beginning.
Soon after, a massive number of messages poured in like a flood, making it difficult to even read them all.
—
[Handful-Group]: Insane insane insane, is Rigan the Omega right now?
[Female-Char-Simp]: Super cool Alpha female lead x Tsundere Omega male lead, this is a stock that’s bound to hit! To the moon, let’s gooooo!
[Tooth-Decay-King]: Which dimension started Omegaverse first? They seriously need to be given an award.
—
What existed there was madness itself.
—
[Dongin-Not-Seoin]: Hmm, my opinion is a bit different though… To me, it looks like Rigan is the Alpha. Obsessing over the nape of the neck since earlier seems to be because of imprinting.
[Fallen-Power-Warrior]: I think the same way. This is definitely an Alpha male lead experiencing rut for the first time as a virgin and not knowing what to do x Strong-willed Omega female lead overcoming heat with raw grit.
—
While the constellations’ conversations were often incomprehensible, this was the first time they were talking about something so thoroughly impossible to follow.
“What on earth, haa, haa, are this Alpha and Omega you’ve been talking about since earlier?”
Rigan, who asked the question, looked strangely moist as he was drenched in sweat.
At that sight, the constellations got excited again and spammed messages frantically.
—
[Trash-Can-Commander]: No, it doesn’t matter anymore whether it’s Alpha or Omega!
[Restraint-Is-Love]: └2222 There’s a silver-haired handsome guy lying handcuffed on a bed, what does that matter! Proceed immediately!
—
“Excuse me, dear constellations…? Everyone, please calm down a bit.”
Leona tried to stop them, but it was useless.
—
[Handful-Group]: Proceed! (Sponsored 100 Divine Power.)
[Trash-Can-Commander]: Proceed! (Sponsored 50 Divine Power.)
[Fallen-Power-Warrior]: Proceeееed! (Sponsored 100 Divine Power.)
—
Like that, the constellations’ mysterious divine power sponsorships continued endlessly.
