“Just you wait! I held back until now because you two were minors, but from now on, I’ll move much more seriously!”
After leaving behind that declaration of war, the angel, who had been crying loudly over Regan and Leona’s alliance, disappeared.
“And now I have ‘Dimensional Streaming’!”
An incomprehensible phrase was added as a bonus.
*’Seriously, what the hell is that Dimensional Streaming thing anyway?’*
While Leona was wondering, the magical carriage they were on had already arrived at the main building of the Papal Headquarters.
“Leona Everhart-nim. Regan Clanford-nim, we’ve been waiting for you. Please come this way.”
When Regan and Leona showed the token they had received from the Commander, a priest welcomed them.
They were guided to a reception room located deep within the Papal Headquarters.
It was a spacious and clean-feeling room.
“Nathaniel-nim received an urgent summons and has entered prayer. It shouldn’t take long, so please wait here for a moment.”
The priest poured them tea with a pleasant fragrance, then closed the door and left.
“Nathaniel, huh… We’re meeting a pretty big shot.”
“Do you know him?”
At Leona’s question, Regan’s brow furrowed deeply.
“Didn’t you attend chapel classes at the Academy?”
“Did anyone actually stay awake for those?”
Regan fell silent, as if deeming it not worth answering.
But Leona was already curious about this big shot they were about to meet.
“Ah, so who is Nathaniel anyway?”
As Leona kept pestering him, Regan reluctantly opened his mouth.
“He’s the High Priest and the leading candidate for the next Pope. He rose to fame last year by becoming the youngest High Priest.”
“Oh, is he that person they call the gift Sirphion-nim bestowed upon the world?”
“What are you talking about?”
“I heard he’s called Sirphion’s gift because his face alone could bring peace to the continent.”
“Ha, so you don’t know the High Priest’s name, but you know his appearance well, I see.”
Regan picked a fight in a tone of disbelief upon hearing that, but Leona completely ignored him.
“I finally get to see him in person. I wonder if he’d give me an autograph?”
Leona smiled, thinking of her devoutly religious grandmother.
And Regan found that sight of Leona grinning like that somehow displeasing.
If she was going to get all giddy at the thought of meeting a handsome man, shouldn’t she have fainted a hundred times just looking at him?
Regan’s inexplicable displeasure doubled when Nathaniel returned.
“I’ve heard a great deal about you, Ms. Leona. They say you’re always diligently striving, serving as a role model for many women. I’ve always wanted to meet you.”
“The honor is mine, to meet a High Priest who contributes so much to the peace of the continent.”
Leona greeted gracefully, as if she hadn’t been grinning foolishly moments before. Seeing that, Regan’s displeasure grew even stronger.
*’She didn’t even know his name until just now.’*
Seeing them laugh and chat, as if gilding each other’s faces, was quite amusing.
Regan roughly extended his hand and spoke.
“I’m Regan Clanford.”
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Regan. I read your thesis last time. I’ve always admired how, despite your youth, you work to improve the lives of the continent’s people through your magical research.”
“Ah, right.”
Despite Regan’s brusque attitude, Nathaniel smiled patiently.
It was Leona who caused the real commotion.
“Hey, what kind of attitude is that toward the High Priest? Behave properly.”
She whispered quietly while lightly—by her standards—elbowing Regan in the side.
“Ugh, all brawn and no brain. I suppose that fist-first attitude of yours is perfectly proper, is it?”
Regan held his side, which Leona had struck with tremendous force, and retorted sarcastically.
It hurt so much his words wouldn’t come out nicely.
“What? No brain? You’ve said enough!”
“Calling it no brain when you’re drooling over a man’s face—what else should I call it? Shall I say you have a hollow head?”
“Hey!”
As their whispered argument grew louder, Nathaniel stepped in to mediate.
“Ms. Leona, Mr. Regan, please calm down for a moment…”
It was at that very moment.
Words they had never seen before appeared in the corner of their vision.
—
**[SubMaleSyndromeTerminal]: Holy! I like the High Priest more… Can’t we switch?**
**[FallenPowerWarrior]: SubMaleSyndrome-nim, are you trying to ruin the newbies’ dimension? Those two have to get together.**
—
“…What is this?!”
“Is this an illusion?”
No matter how many times they rubbed their eyes, the things in their vision wouldn’t disappear.
At least since both of them could see it, it didn’t seem like only one of them was crazy.
“Um, is something the matter with both of you?”
And these incomprehensible words seemed completely invisible to Nathaniel’s eyes.
*’Is this the angel’s doing?’*
Given the angel’s earlier outcry, that seemed highly likely.
Without a moment to hesitate, Leona grabbed Regan’s hand and shouted.
“High Priest Nathaniel, I’m so sorry! We’ll be right back!”
—
**[HandfulFaction]: Kya! They held hands!**
**[TrashBinChief]: ( ՞ٹ՞) What’s this, what’s this~ What are you two~.**
**[CavityKing]: So sweet it’s rotting.**
**[OnlyPureLove]: Excellent! Absolutely excellent!**
—
Leona dragged Regan out of the room.
Throughout that time, new messages kept appearing in their vision.
It was only after they reached a deserted corridor that they stopped and examined the strange phenomenon closely.
“Haa, what on earth is happening?”
“I don’t know either, but it seems they’re having conversations about us.”
—
**[NightRuler]: At last you see me, mortals. I am the great— (*Blocked for inappropriate content.)**
**[HighPerformanceJuicer]: Ah, why does that person talk like that? Anyway, the newbies’ visuals are amazing. This streaming is worth watching!**
—
Judging by the tone, it seemed Regan was right—they were talking about them.
But understanding the meaning was difficult.
“Angel-nim! You did this, right?!”
Leona called out loudly to the angel, whom she suspected was the cause of this unidentified phenomenon.
“Angel-nim! Come out quickly!”
As Leona desperately called for the angel, the space in the air soon warped and the angel popped out.
However, unlike the culprit of this incident, it looked restless. As if it hadn’t expected things to turn out this way and was flustered.
“Le-Leona!”
“This is your doing, right, Angel-nim?”
Under Leona’s questioning, the angel confessed.
“I kept failing, so I wanted to get help… and opened up Dimensional Streaming. But I-I never expected this many people to show up!”
The angel sniffled and made a sullen face. Even at that moment, messages kept appearing and disappearing in their vision.
“What exactly is this ‘Dimensional Streaming’ anyway?”
“It’s a system that opens up a channel from my dimension so that Constellations from other dimensions can also watch. But the existing method was a bit stiff, so I changed it so the Constellations could send messages directly.”
It was apparently a system where interesting events happening within a dimension could be broadcast to earn divine power, or get advice or assistance if needed.
“Wait, wait. Constellations… So you’re saying all these people are gods from other dimensions?”
Leona found it utterly unbelievable.
What kind of gods had names like ‘CavityKing’ or ‘HighPerformanceJuicer’?
Moreover, the way these supposed gods spoke was extremely frivolous.
“Anyway, these friends will help me from now on!”
“Hah, so you’re saying that now, not only the angel, but the Constellations as well will be following us around?”
Regan asked irritably.
“I-I’m an angel who knows moderation! And besides, a-anyway, I used up all the divine power I’d saved for three years to subscribe to Dimensional Streaming, so I can’t keep it open for that long anyway…”
At those words, Regan frowned in frustration and ran a hand through his hair.
The message window went crazy.
—
**[FallenPowerWarrior]: The male lead’s visuals are insane! God-tier handsome…!**
**[TrashBinChief]: I want to get stuck in that furrowed brow… I want to kidnap him to our dimension.**
—
*’Male lead—is that referring to Regan?’*
Just as Leona tilted her head in confusion, the gods from other dimensions started cheering for her too.
—
**[HandfulFaction]: Aaah! Cute! Cute! Cute!**
**[FemaleCharacterFanatic]: The female lead really is noble…! FemaleCharacterFanatic is crying.**
—
There were many words that seemed to be jargon among the Constellations, untranslatable into human language.
Seeing the gods’ conversations filled with incomprehensible words made her dizzy.
“Hoo, well, there’s nothing we can do anyway.”
Regan, seeing the situation, wore a half-resigned expression and told Leona they should go back.
“But they called me cute, so they don’t seem like bad gods, do they?”
“…It seems I’m the only sane one here.”
With those words, Regan turned and strode back toward the room they had come from.
Leona quickly followed behind him and said,
“Well, they’re just giving advice, not actually doing anything, right?”
If Leona had known what was about to happen, she never would have said that.
—
***
—
“I’m sorry.”
They returned to the room and politely apologized to Nathaniel.
“It’s fine, I understand. I too received an urgent summons and entered the prayer room earlier.”
Nathaniel accepted their apology and naturally moved on to the main topic.
“Through that prayer, I was informed that the two of you have been given a divine mission to confront demonic beasts. If there’s anything I can do to help, I’ll assist in any way.”
It seemed the angel had briefly disappeared earlier to relay the message to Nathaniel.
Leona felt somewhat relieved at the appearance of such a reliable ally.
Nathaniel continued in a cautious voice.
“Demonic beasts… It’s astonishing enough that beings only recorded in ancient texts actually exist, but the bigger problem is that we know nothing about them. It will be extremely dangerous.”
“Not at all! We’ll do it! We really want to!”
Leona placed her hand on her chest and stepped forward. Her red eyes blazing with enthusiasm—if a stranger saw her, they would call her the very model of a knight armed with justice.
But her true intentions were incredibly simple.
*’A hundred, a thousand times better than having a child with Regan!’*
And at her unwavering answer, Nathaniel seemed deeply impressed.
“My goodness, your dedication to the peace of this world is truly admirable.”
At the sincere praise from the young and handsome High Priest, Leona’s cheeks flushed slightly.
And Regan’s face, watching that sight, crumpled mercilessly.
“Then contact us when something related to demonic beasts comes up. If there’s nothing else, we’ll be going.”
“Ah, just a moment! I just remembered something that might be helpful to you both. Could you wait just a moment?”
At Regan’s attitude, as if he was about to leave at any moment, Nathaniel hurried off to fetch the item.
Once he left, an awkward silence fell between them.
Regan leaned back on the sofa with a bored expression and closed his eyes, and Leona didn’t particularly try to talk to him.
*’I don’t know why he’s acting like that again, but it’s my loss to poke that foul temper of his.’*
And there were those watching the two of them, burning with impatience…
—
**[OnlyPureLove]: Such a cold atmosphere… The newbies must have had a hard time too.**
**[YaoiOverYuri]: Since we’re here to help, we should do something!**
**[HighPerformanceJuicer]: Since it’s the beginning, how about we start with something light?**
—
Leona was startled as she read their conversation.
*’W-What. What are they going to do?’*
—
**[CavityKing]: How about making them stick together?**
**[SceneDebtMaster]: If they’re going to stick, they should stick their ×××… (*Blocked for rating issues.)**
**[TrashBinChief]: Talking about ××× at the temple—the sacrilege is insane… *pant* *pant*… (*Blocked for rating issues.)**
—
Seeing the conversation growing increasingly extreme, Leona panicked.
*’Are these Constellations out of their minds?’*
Leona turned her head and looked at Regan sitting right next to her.
But he had his eyes closed and didn’t move at all, as if he couldn’t see the situation.
—
**[HandfulFaction]: Going that extreme from the start is a bit…;; Everyone has some divine power left, right? Let’s decide by vote.**
**[OnlyPureLove]: Good idea!**
—
Then, in less than five seconds, new content appeared.
—
**Vote Results Announcement**
– **Hold hands (453 votes)**
– **Stick ××× together (3 votes)**
—
**[The will of the gods descends upon the world.]**
“What… What?!”
