    Chapter 8

Kwon Jae-eon watched I-seo leave the private room.

The flow of his gaze was so blatant that it was impossible not to know where he was looking.

Then, carrying champagne, his partner approached Kwon Jae-eon.

Handing over the glass, pouring the alcohol, and exchanging a few words of conversation.

    “It’s Do Yoon-gi.”

Won-i informed her of the man’s identity.

Do Yoon-gi, 32 years old, former Formula 2 level racing driver.

Kwon Jae-eon scouted Do Yoon-gi into TS Motors and gave him some team leader title.

“They said they were friends, but were they lovers?”

Disappointment heavily seeped into Won-i’s voice.

“Wow, so he even brought his lover into the company. I wonder if they mess around in the office, too?”

They say a fan turned anti is scarier.

Having turned into Kwon Jae-eon’s anti-fan, Won-i openly babbled, “Piece of trash bastard,” while trembling her tightly clenched fists.

In the meantime, I-seo confirmed that the folding door closed, and several women stuck close to the folding door.

Actually, having private time in a private space is that person’s right.

Whether kissing, hooking up, or having a threesome.

That was Kwon Jae-eon’s private life.

The problem was the people digging into it like that.

I-seo, who watched the video without blinking an eye, confirmed that a camera was held in the hands of one of the three suspects.

    “I think it’s this woman?”

Rewinding it, and rewinding it again.

Confirming it several times repeatedly, I-seo checked for the presence of the camera, even borrowing the manager’s eyes.

    “That’s right. This person.”

Then Won-i, who was watching the screen over the two people’s shoulders, tilted her head.

“An unfamiliar face? At least she’s not a guest I invited directly. Is she a club regular, perhaps?”

At Won-i’s words, this time the manager shook his head.

If she were a regular, there was no way he wouldn’t know her face. She was probably someone who had been transferred an invitation.

“If we check the entrance CCTV, we can match it with the guest list. On Friday, we checked identities when people entered and collected all their phone numbers.”

    “Really? Then bring the list.”

At Won-i’s command, the manager left the security room.

Even while the two were doing that, I-seo couldn’t take her eyes off the screen.

Because the folding door in the CCTV had opened again.

    “That’s……”

    That’s my muffler?

Holding firmly onto I-seo’s muffler—which she had thought was lost—Kwon Jae-eon hastily left his seat.

Didn’t people say they saw him chasing after a woman?

Don’t tell me that woman…… is me?

    No, not a chance.

He didn’t even chase after me.

Shaking her head, I-seo cleared the video from her sight, not wanting to think about it any further.

An unfamiliar sensation uncomfortably stirred the center of her chest.

    “Won-i.”

Pressing firmly near her pit of the stomach as if indigestion had set in, I-seo gathered her bag hurriedly.

“Text me once the uploader’s identity is figured out. I have to drop by one more place before returning to the company.”

The homework given to Legal Team 3 at Taeseong Group was two-fold.

Not only the identity of the person who uploaded the video, but also figuring out the identity of the man in the video.

What he did for a living, what exact relationship he had with the Youngest Prince, when it all started, whether he had any weaknesses—everything.

Thanks to Won-i, she had figured out the three syllables of the name Do Yoon-gi and the fact that he was some team leader at TS Motors, so now it was time to uncover his detailed identity and past actions.

If he was a Formula 2 level driver, relevant records would be kept at the Korea Automobile Racing Association.

Since it was a place storing all records related to racing drivers, wouldn’t she be able to look up various things while she was there?

Thinking so, I-seo left the club.

After attending the party at Club Ryun and spending the weekend, a strange nickname attached itself to Yoon-gi.

    Kwon Jae-eon’s “Monthly Guy.”

To top it off, he was supposedly “This Month’s Guy” who would fill out the remaining term of Sienna, who had been This Month’s Girl.

    It was beyond dumbfounding.

It had been almost 15 years since he knew Jae-eon. Since Yoon-gi was the one who first introduced the world of racing to Jae-eon.

No matter how hard he tried, Yoon-gi couldn’t reach F1, but seeing the guy step onto the F1 stage as soon as he started, Yoon-gi had even lamented, “Ah, so that’s what talent is.”

That became the turning point where he switched paths to become an engineer rather than a racer.

Yoon-gi, who continued active as a driver for three more years even after Jae-eon quit racing, began the path of an engineer in the United States.

Then three years ago, he received a scouting offer from Jae-eon and came to Korea.

Ever since, he had been guarding his side like a shadow as Kwon Jae-eon’s closest confidant.

Yet, “Monthly Guy” to someone like him?

This month’s what taking over the remaining term?

To make matters worse, even Chief Bang Yi-jung, the secretary to Taeseong Group Chairman Kwon Seok-ho and head of the Legal Team, was saying that.

“So the two of you…… are indeed in that kind of relationship?”

Dumbfounded, Yoon-gi turned back toward Jae-eon, begging him to say something.

However, Jae-eon was sitting with his back casually leaned against the sofa backrest, observing the situation.

Half-hidden by his languidly lowered eyelids, his black eyes glinted with amusement.

Ha, when that bastard has that look in his eyes, it’s a bit scary.

Sizing up Jae-eon’s mood, Yoon-gi opened his mouth.

“No, Chief Bang. What kind of misunderstanding……”

“It seems Team Leader Do Yoon-gi hasn’t seen it yet.”

When Chief Bang gave a slight nod, a Legal Team employee standing behind him handed over a tablet.

Setting the tablet upright on the table, Chief Bang played a video.

Opening his eyes wide in surprise, Yoon-gi fixed his gaze onto the video.

    “……Why is this?”

He then understood why such a nickname had attached itself to him.

The angle looked exactly like they were kissing.

“Judging by your expression, it seems you admit it.”

    “No?”

Yoon-gi pulled the tablet in front of himself and watched the video again, and again.

“This is because this bastard Kwon Jae-eon, for whatever reason, said I smelled, and like a drug-sniffing dog brought his nose close to my neck to sniff……. No, do I even have to make excuses for something like this?”

    “He was sniffing you?”

“Yes! He said I smelled stale and sour. Of course, I didn’t actually smell stale or sour.”

“And that scene was disguised as a kiss scene between the two of you and uploaded to Telegram?”

“That was uploaded to Telegram? Woah, damn. No wonder every person I met these past few days kept calling me ‘This Month’s Guy’.”

Assessing the dumbfounded Yoon-gi with eyes still filled with suspicion, Chief Bang continued speaking.

“Then how will you explain the CEO fondling Team Leader Do’s body?”

    That was the problem.

The angle of his head was the exact posture of a kiss, but that bastard Kwon Jae-eon looked like he was even touching his chest.

    “No, that was……”

He had just told him to feel it. That if he did this, even his own heart would flutter.

The problem was that Kwon Jae-eon was so sensually built that no matter what he did, he looked like he was doing something erotic.

    “Hey!”

Yoon-gi turned toward Jae-eon, who was still remaining silent.

“You say something, too. It’s not true, us.”

“What do you mean, ‘it’s not’? You said so that day, Hyung. That your heart fluttered because of me.”

    “Whaaat?”

Releasing a soft smile toward Yoon-gi, who turned pale, Jae-eon continued.

“Consider it an honor. Do you think just anyone gets into a scandal with me?”

    “You crazy bastard!”

    “Team Leader.”

    Chief Bang’s voice lowered coldly.

“No matter how close you are personally, please show respect to the CEO in a formal setting.”

Jae-eon, who had been leaning his body casually against the sofa backrest, only then straightened his upper body.

    “That’s enough.”

Lifting the eyelids he had languidly lowered as if the observation was over, he cast a very polite smile toward his grandfather’s right-hand man.

“As for the report to the Chairman, you can just do it as you just heard and saw…….”

The reason Chief Bang came all the way to TS Motors today was likely because the partner in the video happened to be Yoon-gi.

Fearing that unlike other scandal partners, it might not be a one-time thing.

His old-fashioned and worry-filled grandfather must have asked him to check.

    By the way.

    “I’m curious.”

In fact, this incident was hilarious in many ways.

Because he hadn’t intended it, it was an unexpected scandal as well.

Whether he had gained a sasaeng fan like an idol, he was surreptitiously filmed.

The picture quality was garbage, too. All that could be distinguished was Jae-eon’s face and that the partner was a man.

“From the video, only Team Leader Do Yoon-gi’s silhouette appears and his face isn’t identifiable.”

Ultimately, it meant someone in the Legal Team who could distinguish Do Yoon-gi from just a silhouette had been recruited.

    “Whose skill is this?”

They must have identified the person who filmed the video as well.

“The video was completely taken down already, too.”

The party was Friday, the video was uploaded around midnight Sunday.

The video was taken down Wednesday morning.

In a little over two days, the matter was tied up cleanly.

“It seems you hired a quite capable employee?”

Rather than capable, “tactful” would be the right word. It seemed they had bribed the party host.

At Jae-eon’s words, Chief Bang, looking awkward, cleared the tablet away and answered.

“She is a lawyer in her first month of joining as the youngest of Legal Team 3.”

    Ah, the youngest?

Smirking, Jae-eon pushed himself up from his seat.

    “She’s capable.”

Subtly indicating that the conversation was over by standing up from his seat, Jae-eon quietly looked down at Chief Bang, who was still sitting on the sofa.

“Could you introduce that youngest lawyer to me?”

Because I also have someone I want to find.
