    Chapter 01

Walking down the neat and elegant corridor, Camilla smiled leisurely.

Her moderately wavy purple hair swayed around her waist with each step.

    ‘The sunlight is warm.’

Warm sunlight streamed in through the large windows lining the hallway. Perhaps because of that, her expression was very gentle.

Her sharp eyes curved softly into graceful arcs. Bathed in the sunlight shining gently on her face, she walked forward at a relaxed pace.

Unlike her, however, the sounds filling the space were anything but proper.

    “Ahh… Hah… Hah…!”

    “Ahh! Ah…!”

The man’s heavy breathing and the woman’s seductive moans grew louder and louder. What those intertwined sounds meant was painfully obvious.

The servants following behind Camilla gradually stiffened. Each of them carried a large bucket with both hands as they followed her. Whenever they moved, something inside the buckets rattled.

Yet strangely enough, Camilla herself looked completely at ease.

For a moment, she even seemed amused.

At last, when they arrived at the room whose door was wide open, Camilla smiled brightly, her eyes curving into crescents.

“My, you seem to be having fun.”

So much fun that you didn’t even notice I arrived.

Speaking cheerfully, Camilla looked at the pair before her.

The two were still clinging to each other, still making those sounds. Their sweat-soaked hair stuck to their skin.

    Seeing them, Camilla smiled faintly.

She uncrossed her arms and raised a hand. Her pale fingers were long and slender. The way she opened and closed her hand was elegant.

The people behind her noticed the signal and slightly lowered their heads.

Then they lifted the buckets high and, without the slightest hesitation, dumped the contents onto the man and woman on the bed.

Water splashed over them, and pieces of ice that had not fully melted scattered everywhere.

    The pair immediately froze.

    “Kyah!”

    A scream rang out.

The beautiful blonde woman on the bed let out a high-pitched shriek. Her wet golden hair stuck to her face.

    “Ugh… U-Ugh…”

The woman curled up, trembling violently.

Although it was only the beginning of autumn and the weather was still warm, it certainly was not warm enough to suddenly be drenched in ice water.

Especially not for two people who had just been desperately seeking each other’s warmth.

    “You bitch!”

    The man roared.

At the same time, he carefully covered the woman with the dry part of the blanket, as if trying to protect her.

The woman fumbled with the blanket and wrapped it around herself. Her thin shoulders continued to tremble.

Her pale, slender body was completely covered.

The beautiful blonde woman with blue eyes looked pitiful.

The man looked at her sympathetically. Water dripped from her body, and she bit her lip tightly. Her gentle eyes looked as though tears would spill out at any moment.

Then the man’s expression hardened as he turned around.

“What do you think you’re doing?!”

“Oh my, what do you mean?”

Camilla replied in a bright voice.

Leaning casually against the doorframe, she narrowed her eyes.

The corners of her lips curved beautifully, and her elegant eyes formed crescent moons. Her long purple eyelashes fluttered softly.

Within those eyes, her pale pink irises sparkled as if she were enjoying herself.

    “…Ca-Camilla!”

The man widened his eyes in shock.

However, his face soon twisted viciously as he shouted.

Camilla merely tilted her head slightly at his angry voice.

“My. Even if you are my beloved fiancé, that outfit is a little…”

She spoke as if she truly felt sorry for them.

As though she had seen something unpleasant, she lightly frowned and snapped open the folded fan in her hand.

The fan sliced through the air sharply.

    Camilla gently waved it.

The white peacock feathers decorating it swayed softly, like a sigh escaping from her lips.

“It seems you’ve gone a little too far ahead of your time.”

What a tragic sense of beauty.

Her mutter was full of pity.

Though spoken quietly, everyone in the room could hear it.

The man on the bed certainly heard it too.

His face went blank for a moment before turning red and blue with rage.

    He immediately stood up.

His sturdy body was covered with red marks that the woman had likely left on him.

It was as if he felt no shame at all about Camilla seeing him like this.

In fact, he almost looked proud.

“What kind of ridiculous behavior is this?!”

“What behavior? I came to see my beloved fiancé.”

Camilla calmly interrupted him and answered leisurely.

She even winked slightly and smiled.

No matter how much he shouted, she seemed completely unconcerned.

Perhaps that attitude only angered him further.

“Then you should have waited properly! What kind of uncivilized behavior is this?!”

He raised his voice even more.

Water dripped from his soaked hair, yet he seemed too angry to even feel cold.

His eyes were filled with fury.

He scolded Camilla as if she were the one behaving disgracefully for a noble.

As if he himself had done nothing wrong.

    Camilla’s face stiffened slightly.

    Unfortunately, he failed to notice.

Instead, he continued lecturing her sternly.

“If you suddenly throw water at people like this, won’t she be frightened? Camilla, how is this behavior fitting for a noble lady?”

Clicking his tongue, he looked her up and down.

There was not the slightest trace of respect in his cold words.

In fact, he seemed more concerned about his mistress than his own fiancée.

    He clicked his tongue again.

“Camilla, you still don’t suit the Elkacist family. Well, what can one expect? Your bloodline was flawed from the start.”

He subtly brought up the fact that the previous Count Elkacist’s husband had been a commoner.

    Then he added quietly,

“The blood of inferior people never changes.”

As though he were taking revenge for her earlier remark.

He showed absolutely no hesitation in insulting her family to her face.

As if he had done it many times before.

Camilla crossed her arms leisurely and thought,

    ‘Oh. He’s really trash.’

She genuinely wondered where this man’s limits were.

At the same time, she carefully looked him over.

Specifically, the red marks covering his pale skin.

The entire situation felt like a ridiculous comedy.

Her fiancé stood there displaying a body covered in love bites, showing no sign of guilt whatsoever.

    Instead, he was criticizing her.

Camilla shrugged once before shifting her gaze.

    To the woman behind him.

The woman who sat trembling on the bed, wrapped in a blanket as if she were the victim.

‘My, my. He’s protecting his mistress right in front of his fiancée, and that mistress hasn’t even apologized to me.’

Both the idiot yelling in front of her and the woman behind him were equally irritating.

So Camilla smiled even more brightly.

She had no desire to lower herself to the level of beasts like them.

As she smiled, her dazzling beauty became even more radiant.

Her elegant eyes curved beautifully, and her thick purple hair flowed like waves as she tilted her head slightly.

But the eyes shining beneath that smile were ice-cold.

“My goodness. Noble dignity, you say? Attoni Rabelsk.”

Attoni Rabelsk, Camilla’s fiancé, immediately frowned.

Camilla had called him by both his first and last name.

She had never addressed him that way before.

But Camilla paid no attention to his reaction.

She folded her fan with a sharp snap.

Then she poked Attoni Rabelsk’s shoulder with the tip of it and smiled sweetly.

The sunlight shone brilliantly upon her beautiful purple hair.

The day was slowly approaching evening, and red sunlight streamed through the windows.

“Well, I suppose the Rabelsk family considers this sort of thing… Hmm. My, it’s far too vulgar to even say aloud.”

Camilla covered her mouth dramatically, pretending to be embarrassed.

    Because she nearly said,

“Is cheating in broad daylight before the sun has even set something to be proud of?”

    Along with a mocking laugh.

‘No, I shouldn’t. I still have plenty more to say.’

Instead, she twisted her face into a sorrowful expression and spoke sadly.

“It seems the Rabelsk family includes this sort of behavior among the dignity nobles should uphold. If that’s the case, I admit it. It must be a family tradition.”

    Then she added,

“Though I have no intention of following it.”

The words ‘And thankfully, I won’t have to’ remained unspoken behind her smile.

    Attoni Rabelsk’s face turned red.

Although Camilla’s tone remained pleasant and polite, the meaning behind her words was painfully obvious.

Simply put, she was indirectly saying:

“You must have received excellent family education.”

“H-How dare you insult the Rabelsk family!”

“Oh my, after behaving like that yourself?”

Camilla widened her eyes in mock surprise.

The expression was so artificial that it looked like she was openly making fun of him.

Then she smiled even more brightly.

“You should have behaved better. People reap what they sow.”

Tilting her head, Camilla smiled even more brilliantly, as if she had suddenly realized something.

    Her sweet smile looked charming.

“Then again, you’re not a person, so I suppose you can’t reap anything. Right?”

    “Such insolence!”

Attoni shouted furiously, barely covering himself.

His pale face was now bright red with anger.

Looking at him, Camilla kindly explained once more.

“What else could I mean? I’m saying you’re not a person.”

Can’t understand it the first time? What an idiot.

    Camilla muttered the words.

Loud enough for Attoni to hear every single one.

At that moment, unable to control his anger any longer, Attoni raised his hand.

    “You crazy bitch!”

As if he were about to slap Camilla across the face.
