I’m the Heroine’s Mermaid Friend

I realized one day that I had been reincarnated as an extra mermaid from the novel.

All because of a chance encounter with a human.

And that human turned out to be the male lead.

Wanting to witness the events of the original story unfold up close, I became friends with Kyraan. Thanks to him, I also had no trouble befriending the kind and beautiful heroine, Flora.

I thought all that was left was to sit back and enjoy watching the original story play out.

But then… Kyraan started acting a little strange.

“…I wish you’d pay more attention to me than to them.”

At first, I assumed it was nothing more than ordinary jealousy between friends.

“Why won’t you let go of me?”

“Because I want to hold on to you a little longer.”

“Holding on to me won’t purify you, you know?”

“I’m not holding you because of the purification.”

I thought he needed my powers to purify himself.

Then—

“I like you, Serinel.”

Thump.

If that wasn’t the reason…

Then what am I supposed to do?
