    Chapter 02

    Bring Her Back

Her already precarious working life finally exploded the very next day after she had gotten her brother-in-law to buy her a drink and encouraged herself to do better.

She couldn’t hold back any longer when a customer made a prank call, and she ended up threatening to report them to 112. Of course, that got back to her team leader, and she had to endure another lecture.

“Can’t you stand going even one day without causing trouble? Is it really that hard to answer the phone politely? If you’re going to keep acting like this, just find another job. I really don’t think this kind of work suits you, Eun-chae.”

Eun-chae was gritting her teeth and enduring it while thinking about the father waiting for her at home when, fortunately, a department manager around her father’s age opened the conference room door and stopped Team Leader Yeo.

“Oh, enough, Team Leader Yeo. New employees can make mistakes. Didn’t you make mistakes when you were new, too?”

The moment a superior appeared, Team Leader Yeo, who had been shouting at Eun-chae, immediately shut her mouth.

Seeing her team leader like that, Eun-chae felt a sense of solidarity with her for the first time.

But then something unpleasant suddenly touched Eun-chae’s butt.

“Don’t take it too hard. You’re pretty, too. Why don’t you try becoming a show host instead?”

The department manager pretended to comfort her while casually patting Eun-chae’s butt from behind.

What the hell kind of bastard boss was this?

    Thud―.

Eun-chae was the type whose fists moved before her words.

Her father had always told her that everyone had to earn their own living, and whenever she encountered a bastard, she should teach him a lesson so he would never develop bad habits again.

“You! What the hell are you doing?! Are you crazy?!”

The bald department manager, who had been pretending to be kind just moments ago, immediately flew into a rage after Eun-chae punched him in the face.

Appalled by his behavior, Eun-chae shouted even louder.

“You touched my butt first! Team Leader, you saw it clearly too, didn’t you?”

Team Leader Yeo had been standing directly in front of Eun-chae.

She must have clearly seen where the manager’s hand had gone.

Yet she looked at Eun-chae with an expression as blank as a sheet of paper.

    “No. I didn’t see anything.”

Eun-chae got goosebumps at Team Leader Yeo’s words, even more so than at the manager’s dirty hands.

And at that very moment, she instinctively knew it was time to write her resignation letter again.

The next day, after quitting her job unfairly, Eun-chae couldn’t tell her father that she had quit yet another company.

So she lied that she was going to work, left home, and headed for Hongdae.

Dongwoo, who worked part-time at Hongdae Club ‘Ban,’ where she performed, comforted her by giving her an omelet rice he had made himself.

“Just think of it as stepping in dog shit.”

“This time, I didn’t just step in it. Someone pushed me from behind and made me sit right on top of it.”

No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t understand Team Leader Yeo more than the bald department manager who had touched her butt and then shamelessly turned around and filed an assault charge against her.

What made even less sense was that Team Leader Yeo had watched everything happen right in front of her and pretended not to see it.

Was a lousy job really important enough to throw away your humanity?

“Besides, if I can’t come up with three million won for the settlement right away, Dad’s going to find out. What should I do?”

The settlement being an absurdly high three million won wasn’t even the biggest problem.

If her father found out she had been sexually harassed, he would obviously fly into a rage and commit a second assault.

He might even track down the bald department manager and pluck out every last hair he had left.

Eun-chae didn’t want her father to end up in trouble too, so she wanted to settle the matter as quickly as possible.

    “Haah… I can’t even get a loan because I’m unemployed.”

She needed to find a job quickly just to resolve the situation with the settlement money.

    And not just any job.

She needed one that could pay her three million won immediately.

For someone who had never had much luck with money, it really felt like a Mission: Impossible.

Dongwoo offered to help, but the circumstances of the friends she made music with were obvious.

He could barely afford his own rent. There was no way he had that much money to lend someone else.

Eun-chae did have a doctor brother-in-law who earned good money, but even he lived on an allowance from her sister.

He had bought Eun-chae an expensive pair of designer shoes for her birthday last time, and her sister had already subjected him to a storm of nagging over it.

The fallout from three million won would undoubtedly be much worse.

The only money Eun-chae could get immediately without taking a serious hit was the savings account her father had set aside for her marriage.

But if she secretly touched that money without telling him, she might literally die at her father’s hands.

    “Excuse me.”

Just then, a refined man’s voice came from nearby.

Eun-chae and Dongwoo, who had been worrying about the problem together, simultaneously turned their heads toward the sound.

A man who looked almost sixty stood there dressed like an English gentleman.

Eun-chae wondered what someone that old was doing in Hongdae, a place mostly frequented by young people.

“We only sell alcohol here. What brings you here?”

Dongwoo asked the man, who was somewhere between looking like an old man and a middle-aged gentleman.

The unexpected appearance of the elderly man was surprising enough.

But what he pulled out of his bag was even more surprising.

He was holding an India Red album.

The only album India Red had ever released, with exactly five hundred copies sold nationwide.

“I heard this band performs here, so I came because I wanted to meet them.”

The woman in the album photo was sitting right beside him, shoveling food into her mouth.

But perhaps because she was barely wearing any makeup and was dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, or perhaps simply because of his poor eyesight, the man failed to recognize her.

Dongwoo wisely didn’t reveal who they were and instead asked about the man’s purpose.

“Do you work for a record company?”

“No. I’m just someone like this. But I really need to meet the female vocalist of this band.”

When they saw the name ‘Sejin Construction’ printed on the business card he pulled out, Dongwoo and Eun-chae exchanged surprised looks.

Sejin Construction was a major corporation belonging to Sejin Group.

For Eun-chae, who had been desperately crying out for a job that could pay three million won just moments earlier, that business card suddenly seemed more impressive than anything in the world.

She grabbed the man’s business card with both hands and looked at the elderly gentleman with completely different eyes.

    “I know ‘Su.’”

‘Su’ was the nickname Eun-chae used in India Red.

Since she performed secretly without her father’s knowledge, she had naturally started performing under a nickname.

“Oh! Really? Can you introduce me to her?”

Dongwoo looked at Eun-chae as if asking what the hell she was planning.

She waved the man’s business card and grinned.

“If you really work for Sejin Construction, introduce me to a job. Then I’ll introduce you to ‘Su.’”

There was nothing for her to lose.

If the man said no, she could simply forget the whole thing.

If he really introduced her to a job, she could reveal that she was ‘Su.’

The man looked troubled for a moment, but he didn’t think for very long before speaking.

“Then would you send your résumé to the email address on the business card? I’ll review it and see if I can find a suitable position and give you an opportunity to interview. Would that be enough?”

    Oh? He took the bait?

Eun-chae smiled at Dongwoo as if proudly asking how good her fishing skills were.

But Dongwoo looked suspiciously at the man.

There was something unsettling about why an employee of a construction company with absolutely nothing to do with music was looking for her.

Do-hyeok glanced at the résumé Manager Park had placed on his desk.

“I never said I was hiring a new employee.”

He had never said he was recruiting anyone, yet Manager Park had gone ahead and brought him a résumé.

    Strictly speaking, that was nepotism.

The very first thing Do-hyeok had done after becoming the company’s CEO was fire employees who had gotten in through connections.

The idea of telling him to nurture another parachute hire was absurd.

“She’s a woman who knows the female vocalist of the band you wanted to meet.”

If she’s the female vocalist’s acquaintance, why phrase it like that?

Only then did Do-hyeok look at the photograph attached to the résumé, and his eyes widened slightly for an entirely different reason.

The album photo had made him uncertain, but the résumé photograph made it obvious.

The woman in the photograph was the fake female doctor he had met at the hospital.

She had boldly been sitting there dressed as a doctor in the place where Seo Jinwoo should have been.

Considering that Do-hyeok had been promised confidentiality for his psychiatric treatment, he could have sued Seo Jinwoo and the hospital over this.

There was only one reason he didn’t.

    He didn’t want the trouble.

To file a lawsuit, Manager Park and a lawyer would have to know about it.

And once those two knew, even more people would inevitably learn that Do-hyeok was receiving psychiatric treatment.

“So this woman says she isn’t the band’s female vocalist?”

“Yes. That’s what she said herself. That they’re just acquaintances.”

Manager Park had lived his life trusting people, so he would probably believe the woman’s words over his own eyes.

But Do-hyeok, who had lived his life viewing the world skeptically, couldn’t do that.

He wasn’t particularly good at distinguishing women’s faces from one another.

But perhaps because he had already heard this woman tell one blatant lie, he had the strange feeling that he was being deceived even now.

Maybe it was a divine signal telling him to skip the lawsuit and deliver immediate punishment instead.

Do-hyeok’s expression changed into that of a man who had found his prey rather than a bullet.

    “Set up an interview.”

After unexpectedly receiving a call from Manager Park telling her to come in for an interview, Eun-chae headed to Sejin Construction feeling as though she had won the lottery.

Whatever the circumstances that had gotten her the interview, it was the biggest company she had ever interviewed with.

She didn’t have a college degree, and the only certificate she possessed was a driver’s license.

    She considered herself incredibly lucky.

    “Welcome.”

If Manager Park had looked like nothing more than a lost middle-aged man at the club, at the company he looked like an incredibly capable professional.

    Human eyes really were fickle.

People saw others however they wanted to see them.

“Today’s interview will be conducted personally by the CEO.”

Eun-chae had expected to meet someone like a department head or general manager.

When she heard she would be meeting the CEO, her eyes widened.

Meeting someone so high-ranking finally made her nervous.

    “Is the CEO very scary?”

At her worried question, Manager Park merely gave her a mysterious smile and told her to find out for herself.

    Knock, knock―.

After politely knocking on the office door, Manager Park opened it and entered first to make his report.

Because Manager Park’s back blocked her view, Eun-chae couldn’t yet see the CEO sitting behind the desk.

Since he was the head of such a huge company, she imagined he would be an even older grandfather than Manager Park.

“CEO, this is Lee Eun-chae, who came for the interview today.”

Following Manager Park inside, Eun-chae bowed toward the large mahogany desk where the boss was sitting.

    “Hello.”

As Eun-chae raised her head after greeting him, her eyes met the man sitting behind the desk.

    Her eyes widened.

    It was him!

The sex-addict patient she had treated while pretending to be a doctor!

    Eun-chae didn’t even think twice.

    She bowed again.

    “Goodbye.”

Then she turned around and walked out of the office without looking back.

    There was no way.

    How could this possibly work?

Manager Park was stunned by Eun-chae’s sudden departure.

It was even more absurd than when she had demanded an interview in exchange for introducing him to ‘Su.’

He had no idea why Eun-chae had run away the moment she saw Do-hyeok’s face.

But what stunned him even more was the order that came from his boss.

    “Bring her back.”

    Not bring her here.

Not ask her to come back.

    Bring her back.

Things were getting more ridiculous by the minute.

Eun-chae left the CEO’s office as if fleeing for her life, thinking only that she absolutely had to get out of this company as quickly as possible.

The fact that the CEO was clearly not mentally sound was already a problem.

But if he discovered that she had impersonated a doctor and conducted a consultation, her brother-in-law could get into trouble too.

She couldn’t let Jinwoo suffer because of her reckless behavior.

She had relied on her instinctive sense of danger and immediately turned around the moment her eyes met the CEO’s.

Surely that meant the CEO hadn’t recognized her.

“We’ll need you to come with us.”

But when two security guards who looked like Terminators blocked her path, Eun-chae screamed internally.

    I’m screwed!

As the security guards forcibly escorted her back to the CEO’s office, the faces of her family flashed through her mind one after another.

    Her father’s furious face.

Her sister’s resigned expression that said, I knew this would happen.

    Her brother-in-law’s disappointed face.

She wanted to dig a tunnel into the ground and escape if she could.

Why did I put on that doctor’s coat just because I was bored?! Why did that man have to walk in at that exact moment?! Do I even look like a doctor?!

Come to think of it, the man who had mistaken her for a doctor was even more foolish than she was.

Lost in thought, she eventually reached the CEO’s office.

    The door opened again.

She had to go back inside the very place she desperately didn’t want to enter.

The man known as the CEO had left his desk and was now sitting in the center of the sofa.

When she had seen him at the hospital, she had simply thought he was handsome.

    Now, he looked frighteningly handsome.

Just as arrogantly as she had spoken to him in the examination room, he spoke to her this time.

    “Sit.”

    Eun-chae shook her head.

Then she began pleading in the most submissive tone she could manage.

“Um, I won’t tell anyone what you said to me at the hospital that day. I was pretending to be a doctor too, after all. It’s not like I have anything to be proud of either.”

She was trying to reach a compromise along the lines of We both have embarrassing secrets, so let’s just call it even.

But the CEO was completely on his own path.

He ignored her words and looked at the résumé on the desk as though he were conducting an actual job interview.

Wait. Is this still an interview?

    “Your résumé is a rag.”

    Eun-chae’s eyebrows twitched.

She knew this was the time when she should lower her head and apologize, but hearing the word rag was hard to swallow.

It felt as though he had just called her a rag.

As if he intended to attach a ticking time bomb to her already twitching temper, the CEO casually asked:

“Is there anything you can actually do?”

Eun-chae frowned and looked at him.

No matter how she thought about it, this interview seemed like an act of revenge.

He had mistaken her for a doctor and revealed his secret to her.

This was obviously some scheme to somehow make up for that.

“There isn’t. So just fail me.”

Before you fail me, I’ll fail myself.

    Eun-chae declared it proudly.

But instead of being flustered, the CEO curled his lips into a faint smile.

Why is he suddenly acting seductive?

Is his sex addiction acting up at a time like this? Is he going to use some cliché like, ‘I’ve never met a woman like you,’ and attack me?

Eun-chae felt frightened and took a step backward.

She was frozen like a woman who had just received a threatening call from a human trafficker.

The CEO rested his chin on his hand and watched her.

Almost as though he were admiring her.

Eun-chae quickly measured the distance between herself and the door.

If things get bad, I’m running.

Surely the door isn’t locked, right?

    “Do you like dirty things?”

    “I hate them!”

    Eun-chae shouted.

Suddenly, she desperately wanted to see her father.

I didn’t listen to Dad and ran around like a reckless idiot, and now I’ve ended up meeting a weirdo like this.

She felt sorry toward her father.

    And she felt utterly pathetic.

    “It’s okay. I like them.”

What do you mean, it’s okay?! I don’t like them! I hate them!

Eun-chae opened and closed her mouth like a carp, as though she had just been hit with a punch.

Do-hyeok stopped teasing her and suddenly became serious.

“And there’s something else you lied to me about, isn’t there? Lee Eun-chae.”

Of course, Eun-chae had told countless lies throughout her life.

    Especially to her father.

But this man, whom she had only met for the second time, had no right to interrogate her about them.

Even if she had lied, there was a world of difference between her father beating the truth out of her and this man doing it.

Who the hell are you to keep picking at me?!

Do-hyeok threw an album in front of Eun-chae.

It was the India Red album with her photograph on it.

Why was the happiest memory of her life being thrown around like criminal evidence?

“The India Red vocalist. You said she was just someone you knew. Was that a lie?”

    “No!”

    Eun-chae vehemently denied it.

He had immediately figured out that she wasn’t a doctor.

But whether she was India Red’s ‘Su’ was another matter.

If she denied it, then that was the end of it.

She had meticulously hidden her real name so her father wouldn’t find out.

And whenever she performed, she deliberately dressed more extravagantly and wore heavier makeup, making her look completely different from the plainly dressed woman sitting here now.

Why the CEO wanted to meet India Red’s ‘Su’ didn’t matter.

She simply didn’t want to agree with anything this man said.

    “You’re really saying it isn’t a lie?”

The CEO stared at her suspiciously, as if saying, You’re obviously the one, but you’re still going to deny it?

Eun-chae stared right back without backing down.

    “I said it’s not.”

It was like seeing a red apple right in front of you and having someone stubbornly insist it was a pink peach.

    Do-hyeok found it absurd.

What annoyed him even more was that he had no way to prove it here.

Her claim to be a doctor could easily be exposed by checking her medical license.

But a photograph printed in an album was not legal evidence that the woman in it was India Red’s ‘Su.’

As long as he couldn’t prove she was India Red’s ‘Su,’ he couldn’t uncover what relationship she had with his father either.

It was a situation where he had to peel the apple first before he could find out what color was inside.

    One thing seemed certain.

The inside of this apple was probably not white.

“You’re really going to deny it even if you die?”

His words made Eun-chae slightly uneasy, as if he were warning her that she would be in serious trouble if he caught her lying again.

But she held her ground to the very end.

    “No.”

It’s not like I’ll ever see this man again after today anyway.

After completely ruining the interview, Eun-chae went to Hongdae in a foul mood.

“Wow! Our Venus has some serious dark circles today. Want me to make you some salmon salad?”

“Don’t tease me. I’m really in a terrible mood.”

    Eun-chae collapsed onto the table.

She couldn’t stay home because she was worried about her father.

She couldn’t even comfortably sing after coming to the club.

She still had no idea how she was going to get three million won.

And whenever she did nothing, that shameless man’s face kept floating through her mind, making her furious.

“Why is life like this? When I do what I want, I have no money. When I try to make money, I end up looking pathetic.”

As Eun-chae curled herself up slightly and muttered, Dongwoo gently rubbed her head with his hand, comforting her like an older brother.

“Put on an Adele song. At least let me listen to something.”

When she sang, she was beautiful.

But in real life, she was so insignificant.

Every time she went to an interview, people only scolded her and asked what she could actually do.

Her father only nagged her for being a useless daughter.

Maybe that was why she wanted to hide even more deeply inside India Red’s ‘Su.’

She wanted to forget her real self and fly freely.

    Rrrrrrrrrr―. Rrrrrrrrr―.

    Her phone rang.

When she pulled it out, she saw that it was Manager Park from Sejin Construction.

She wanted to ignore it after remembering the CEO’s evil face.

But Manager Park hadn’t done anything wrong, so Eun-chae answered.

    [Eun-chae, I’m sorry about today.]

Manager Park even apologized on behalf of the CEO, something that man himself would never do.

Maybe Manager Park really was a good person.

“It’s okay. The CEO is the bad guy, not you, Manager Park.”

Let’s just curse the CEO together and call it even.

But Manager Park still defended the man he served.

[Our CEO isn’t that bad of a person.]

No. He is bad to me.

Who does he think he is, interrogating me like I’m some criminal? He’s not my father! He’s not my boyfriend!

[I’ll introduce you to another job. So please don’t let what happened today bother you.]

    Eun-chae was touched.

The CEO was nobody to her, yet he had interrogated her relentlessly.

Manager Park was nobody to her too, yet he was trying to help her until the very end.

“Manager Park, I think you’re a really good person.”

She wanted to repay him by immediately telling him that she was India Red’s ‘Su.’

But Manager Park was Kwon Do-hyeok’s secretary.

If he found out, it was obvious that the CEO would find out too.

So Eun-chae simply couldn’t bring herself to say it.

Sitting in the back seat of the silently moving Benz, Do-hyeok was reviewing the initial proposal for a ski resort project in China.

Once the feasibility review was completed perfectly by the end of the month, they planned to conduct a current-status survey, determine the total investment cost, and submit a business proposal to the Chinese government.

The ski resort project was the biggest and most important project of the year, so Do-hyeok carefully read through the draft.

    He was the final decision-maker.

That meant he was also the one responsible.

    There could be no mistakes.

But someone suddenly came to mind, like an uninvited guest barging into his thoughts.

The woman who had hidden her true self and lied to him until the very end.

He still hadn’t figured out what relationship she had with his father.

He hadn’t even obtained definite proof that she was really India Red’s ‘Su.’

Do-hyeok preferred to deal with matters quickly and decisively.

The fact that he was hesitating over one insignificant woman made him feel irritated.

Do-hyeok raised his head and looked at Manager Park sitting in the passenger seat.

“What company did you introduce Lee Eun-chae to?”

Manager Park turned around in surprise.

He had never told Do-hyeok anything about Eun-chae after the interview.

For a moment, he wondered whether Do-hyeok had even assigned another informant to watch him.

But Do-hyeok spoke as though it were nothing important.

“It’s obvious, isn’t it? Given Manager Park’s personality, there’s no way you would have simply ignored her. You would have done nothing but introduce Lee Eun-chae to a proper interview.”

Do-hyeok had treated Eun-chae’s interview casually.

    But Manager Park spoke seriously.

“I think Lee Eun-chae developed negative feelings toward you because of that interview.”

“That’s not exactly something I haven’t heard before.”

He didn’t particularly dislike the idea.

If he was the only face Eun-chae thought of whenever she thought of a bad person, that was fine.

If she had looked down on him and lied to him like that, she would pay dearly for it.

    “Perhaps you should apologize first?”

Eun-chae was someone who seemed to have a deep connection with India Red’s female vocalist.

So Manager Park thought Do-hyeok should approach Eun-chae a little more like a gentleman.

Apparently, Do-hyeok didn’t see it that way.

“Oh. That’s an interesting piece of advice.”

Do-hyeok accepted Manager Park’s advice with a cynical tone.

“Have you ever given Chairman Kwon advice like that?”

Manager Park had said it because he was concerned about Do-hyeok.

But from Do-hyeok’s perspective, it seemed as though Manager Park was saying it because he considered Do-hyeok beneath Chairman Kwon.

That wasn’t the case at all.

Do-hyeok was special to Manager Park in many ways.

Even before becoming Do-hyeok’s secretary, Manager Park had been Chairman Kwon’s secretary and had watched Do-hyeok grow up from childhood.

Perhaps Manager Park knew Do-hyeok better and cared about him more than even his own family did.

That was why he had shown Do-hyeok the India Red album even though he knew Chairman Kwon would hate it.

He had hoped Do-hyeok would understand the deeper meaning hidden inside that album.

Unfortunately, Do-hyeok was still looking at something completely different.

“Do your best at work today too, our Eun-chae.”

Thinking she was going to work, her father gave her another energetic send-off.

Eun-chae was actually on her way to an interview at the English textbook company Manager Park had introduced her to.

She gave him an awkward smile, said she would be back, and left the house.

After receiving her father’s burdensome farewell, Eun-chae straightened her back and walked forward, looking only ahead.

She had to pass this interview no matter what.

If she failed this one too, there was no way she could come up with the three million won.

Eun-chae clenched her fist and walked forward confidently, determined to do her best.

    Honk―.

    A car horn suddenly sounded.

Thinking the driver was asking her to move aside, Eun-chae moved closer to the edge of the road.

But the car slowed down even more as it drove beside her.

Annoyed by the car traveling alongside her, Eun-chae turned her head.

A bourgeois-looking man wearing sunglasses and resting one arm on the window frame was staring at her.

What the hell is this guy doing? Why is he trying to pick up women in a neighborhood where only middle-aged market ladies hang around?

As she stared at him, the man opened his mouth.

    “You’re dressed pretty plainly. Interview?”

Apparently, Eun-chae was more sensitive to Kwon Do-hyeok’s voice than his face.

    Her eyebrows shot straight up.

    “Why are you here?!”

    Do-hyeok answered with infuriating calm.

    “Coincidence.”

They should execute every coincidence that is this damn unlucky.

She had even sworn never to see him again when she left the interview.

So why did she keep running into him so easily?

Just because you have money, you think you’re everything?

Just because you drive such a nice car, you think that makes you special?

Eun-chae walked extremely quickly to get away from Do-hyeok.

But trying to beat a car with human legs was a hopeless challenge.

No matter how fast she walked, even when she started running, Kwon Do-hyeok’s car remained beside her.

Now she felt as though he was tormenting her physically as well as verbally.

Eun-chae’s face grew red like a volcano on the verge of eruption.

“Go away! Get lost! Every time I see you, something goes wrong!”

She was already on her way to an interview.

He was practically throwing salt on an open wound.

“Even if I told you to get in, you wouldn’t, would you?”

It was a hundred times more irritating than actually forcing her to get in.

So Eun-chae kicked the tire of Do-hyeok’s car with the high heel she was wearing.

But all she accomplished was hurting her own foot.

    The tire remained perfectly fine.

“You think that’ll make it burst? You’re loud, but you never actually accomplish anything.”

What the hell is wrong with this guy?!

Why did he suddenly appear in front of me just to drive me insane?

Did I borrow money from him? Did I do something to him?

“Why are you doing this to me?!”

When she finally shouted as though she couldn’t take it anymore, Do-hyeok raised three fingers.

    “Pick one of three.”

She was already getting angry before she even heard them.

    Why were there three?

    “First, because you’re pretty.”

    She flinched.

Why was a woman’s heart so fickle?

She actually reacted to the compliment and momentarily forgot that the man saying it was a terrible person.

Don’t fall for it! There are still two more!

“Second, because I’ve fallen for you.”

Her heart twitched even harder than before.

    She couldn’t fall for it.

    There was still one left.

You had to listen to everything someone said before making a judgment.

    “Third.”

Do-hyeok even took off his sunglasses.

    Right.

The important part always came at the very end.

    “Because you lied to me.”

    Eun-chae didn’t panic.

Instead, she gave him a sarcastic smile.

“Do you chase people around and harass them like this every time someone lies to you? You must have an incredibly boring life.”

It was probably the first time in his life Do-hyeok had heard someone call him bored.

    He gave a faint laugh.

Regardless of whether it had anything to do with lying, this woman kept provoking his fighting spirit.

The only person who had ever made him feel that way before was his father.

Thinking that it was because of the India Red album, Do-hyeok waved his hand.

    “See you again.”

After stopping someone who had been peacefully going about her business, making her furious, and then driving away as though nothing had happened, Do-hyeok’s car disappeared down the road.

Eun-chae shouted angrily at the back of his car.

“I don’t want to see you, so don’t show up!”
