The Countess’s Body Disappeared
Summary
“It wasn’t grave robbing. The lady came out of her own grave and left this place of her own accord.”
Cecilia, the mistress of the Winterhall family, had a phrase she used to say like a habit:
“I’m going to die.”
And every time, her husband Davion gave her the same response:
“Stop joking around. I told you it’s not funny.”
But one day, she really did die.
The Countess’s sudden death shocked everyone. And, unbelievably, one week later, her grave was found completely empty.
By using a witch’s potion to deceive everyone, Cecilia had finally obtained the perfect freedom she had always wanted.
“My plan isn’t anything complicated. First, I’m going to do all the things that were forbidden in that damn house. Like drinking alcohol, for example.”
Cecilia emptied her glass in one go and let out a satisfied “Ahh!”
However, her expression darkened as soon as she was asked the next question.
“Ah… My husband?”
She thought for a moment before casually shrugging her shoulders.
“That man once called me the stain of his life.”
“……”
“He’s probably forgotten someone like me a long time ago and is living comfortably like he always did, right?”
No. Cecilia had absolutely no idea just how cruel the husband who had personally buried her could become.
Nor did she know just how far he could fall apart.
