Eloise: Married to the Mad Duke

Synopsis

When I opened my eyes, I had become Eloise Flodel, the heroine of a novel. If things continued this way, I would soon be forced into a marriage as if I were being sold off, only to meet a miserable death because I could see ghosts.

“I can’t die like this!”

So I proposed a deal to the Mad Duke of the North, Castian von Edgart.

But this man, wearing a dangerous smile, gave me an unexpected answer.

“Let’s do it. Let’s get married.”

“You will become the mistress of the Edgart estate. There couldn’t be a more natural or better arrangement, could there?”

He held out his hand.

“As you proposed, I will protect you from your enemies and, ultimately, eliminate them. In exchange, you have only one duty.”

His red eyes fixed directly on Eloise.

“Calm my energy.”

“What do you mean by that…?”

His words sounded as though, in addition to helping him find the key to controlling his power, there was something else I would have to do to help him more directly.

And sure enough, the corners of Castian’s mouth curved into a smile.

“Are you going to pretend you don’t know now?”
