    The Definition Of A Villain

    by Emily

    Synopsis

Cookeville, a small city in Tennessee, USA.

Betty has been attending Cookeville High School while hiding her true identity as a Guide. Then, one day, she receives news that strikes her like a bolt from the blue.

“Hero James has transferred to our school!”

James is an S-rank Esper and the most famous hero in the world. And now, the man who knows Betty’s true identity has transferred to Cookeville High School.

“Betty, if you don’t already have plans, would you like to have lunch with me?”

Just as she feared, James approaches her.

    “Hey, trash.”

Even in the darkness, the face revealed beneath his platinum-blond hair was breathtakingly beautiful, like something straight out of a painting.

And then, to make matters worse, an S-rank villain named Dave suddenly appears before her.

From that moment on, a fierce whirlwind begins to sweep through the life of Betty, the outcast of Cookeville High School.

“So you were my Guide all along, Betty… I wonder what kind of cruel joke fate is playing on me.”

    “Daniel…?”

A deep, low voice resonated over her shoulder. His precise pronunciation, without even the slightest stutter, pierced her ears, making Betty’s heart beat anxiously.

    Something is wrong.

    “Stutterer.”
    “Loser.”
    “Daniel the pathetic stutterer.”

The cruel taunts that had followed him everywhere seemed like lies. He was perfect.

At that moment, his hand grasped Betty’s chin and lifted her face.

The instant their eyes naturally met, Daniel released her chin and deliberately swept back the platinum-blond hair covering his eyes.

For the first time, Betty saw the vivid blue eyes she had never properly looked into before—and they met her dark eyes head-on.

“Betty, do you still see me as Daniel the stutterer?”

Finally, Daniel took off his glasses and gave her a soft, knowing smile.

His platinum-blond hair shimmered in the sunlight, and the awkward, timid face of Daniel had completely disappeared.

    “You… are…”

    A handsome, picture-perfect face.

As Betty realized whose face it truly was, her eyes widened and her lips slowly parted.

    “…the villain… Dave…”

“That’s right, Betty. Dave, the wanted criminal with a billion-dollar bounty on his head. That’s who I really am.”

    “…That’s impossible.”
