The Merman Trapped in My Lake
The girl locked a mermaid in a lake.
She said she had locked him away because she loved him, and even when the mermaid suffered, she was simply happy.
There was no way the mermaid could love the girl.
About 100 years passed.
The mermaid grew from a boy into a man.
Instead of his beautiful tail, he now had human legs.
If he had gained legs, he should have been able to return to the sea he had longed for so desperately.
Then why did the mermaid wait for the girl?
I admitted it. I had been mistaken.
I thought the mermaid was only somewhat insane.
I believed that, aside from occasionally mistaking me for “that Servain,” the rest of his cognition was normal.
But I was wrong.
He was completely broken.
So broken that even I could not do anything about it.
